The last Beer Train has finally been announced!

CalTrain is shutting down weekend service for at least 2 years starting in April to build some new high speed thingamajig. By then, we all expect to be too old to indulge in a day devoted entirely to drinking, so we're making the most of this final opportunity.

Details:
Date: March 23, 2002
Location: Ausiello's Tavern - 864 El Camino Real, Belmont, CA
Time: 2:00 p.m.

What is the Beer Train?
Well, our BT originated in the South Bay, so what we do is take the train up to Belmont, where we head to Ausiello's and start drinking and eating lunch and waiting for everyone to show up (not in that order). Once we've reached critical mass, or more people show up than we can keep track of, we get back on the train and make our way back down the Peninsula, stopping every couple of towns to go to another bar. Generally we make Palo Alto by dinnertime, and the hardcore partiers make it all the way to Mountain View.

The great thing about the Beer Train is that no one has to drive, and you can leave whenever you like, or stay for as long as you like. It's a great place to meet people and hang out with friends. I sound like a commercial. But really, it's a lot of fun.

I've posted pictures from the last two Beer Trains at here and here.
