My fan finally came out of the closet tonight.
In other denial news, I have been ignoring the existence of summer all summer long. During May, I was giving up all sorts of non-essentials, such as the gym membership I never used and the television cable I used too much, in anticipation of lean times ahead. In June, those lean times hit as I was laid off.
I had intended to search out all sorts of cheap ways to take advantage of the good weather and long days and get out of my apartment and get in shape and in touch with what I really wanted to do with my life. Instead, I sat on my ass all summer long, keeping my apartment painfully clean and worrying about my lack of funds for essentials such as rent and food.
Now I have the security of a job, and just as everyone tells me that summer is over (pshaw!), I finally feel free to get out and do all the things I was afraid of doing for the past three months (just like my fan!). And I have two weeks to do them. Watch out, here I come.
And thanks to the quick thinking of my mom this evening, I will be able to attend Fray Day after all. Go Mom!
That's all. I hope y'all had a nice Labor Day!
