Be your own Disneyland.

Wednesday, August 17

I'm a sheep sometimes. I don't 'baaa' very well, but gosh, I'll sign up for almost anything on the web. Almost.

Anyway, you can find me in the following places online (roughly in the order that I signed up):

Friendster (is this anything but a hook-up site now?)
Multiply (exciting for a very short period of time)
Tribe (of no use to me, really)
Orkut (the only one that I ever met a stranger through)
Dodgeball (even though I don't text message on my phone)
Flickr (I was sceptical at first, but now I heart Flickr)
hi5 (dumb)
MySpace (really bad UI)
Yahoo360° (neat idea, but I'm not sure what to do with it now)

I'm sure there are lots more. There was one that involved bugs mating (my bug got sick and I got uninterested), but I can't remember the name and apparently I've deleted all the emails I got from them.

And naturally, I have 5 gmail accounts, 4 yahoo accounts, as well as whateveryoucanthinkof at this domain.

Am I on any more social networking sites that you can remember? Are there any more that I should sign up for? Please!! I need to belong, apparently.

BUT! If you ask me to be your friend in any of these and I don't know you, please don't take it personally if I turn you down. I just get all weird when someone I don't know asks me to accept them as my friend on these things. Send me an email, let us establish a relationship, even if it's just a 2-note sort of thing, and then I'll be happy to say yes. But heck, if I look at your profile and see that you have 4500 'friends' and I'm just going to be a drop in the bucket ... well, I don't feel all that special. And it kind of doesn't reflect well on me and how I decide who's a friend and who isn't, does it? So yeah. I like acquaintances, but friends are a little more precious to me.
