So July was hard on my legs. I went to Dallas and they were bitten. I came home scratching, with a total of 10 mosquito bites from the knees down, many of them on my feet (feet!! why my feet?!?!). Then I went to Angel Island, and again, I rolled up my jeans to better enjoy the water. This time, I came home bright red from the knees down (and still scratching from the weekend before - ouch!). Then last week, the mosquitos attacked again. I am unsure how this happened, as I haven't rolled up my pants since July 23rd, but I find myself with numerous bites from the knees down (and again on the feet!! WTF?!! and what's up with only getting bitten from the knees down? Are my calves and feet sweeter than the rest of me?).
Last night was the first night I have slept all the way through in quite a while, not having woken up an hour or two after falling asleep to scratch, scratch, scratch. I noticed, however, that the burn is starting to peel. Yee. Haw.
In other news, I'm heading Home this weekend for my dad's 60th birthday, to see my sister and brother-in-law and nieces, and to take a much-needed break from here. I spent last night baking, and found that the key to good chocolate chip cookie consistency is having at least two cookie sheets. This allows you to leave the batch you just took out of the oven on the sheet for a bit while the other sheet bakes. Yum.
