Be your own Disneyland.

Wednesday, July 26

In other news, heard at work yesterday:
It's enough to bum you right the fuck out.
Things are way busy these days, but it's not so bad that we don't keep our sense of humor (and thus our sanity). For instance, the phrase "It will just work" can send us rolling on the floor in tears of laughter.

For those keeping track, I'm feeling muuuch better these days. The cough only appears at strange random times and doesn't stick around. This is good. Good enough that I am trying to plan outings in the future:

1) North Beach Jazz Festival this weekend - anyone want to go with me?

2) Keane is coming to town on Sunday, October 8 - I'm hoping this is an evening concert, as that is also my mom's birthday weekend and I'll be returning from celebrations at Home on Sunday. Again, anyone want to go with me? I can get tickets starting tomorrow, and would rather get them sooner rather than later.

3) and remember, you can still get your ticket to join us at the Def Leppard/Journey concert on Aug 26.

I'm also going to Dallas for a week in August. I know! Why would someone go to Dallas for a vacation, you ask. Well, I'll be hanging out at my dad's house for most of that time while he and his wife are at work, eating, relaxing by the pool, and sleeping. Basically being a teenager on summer break. The past several months have been fairly stressful and I need to get away in a big way and do a whole lotta nothing (and not have to pay for a hotel to do it). I can't tell you how much I'm looking forward to this.

Also, I watched Team America: World Police the other night, and holy crap, that was funny. There were two parts in particular that were hard to get through, but the theme song and trust jokes were hi-larious.

And, I have been trying to get out walking lately, and 1) it's freaking hot out there and 2) trying to walk 3.5 miles after being fairly stationary for a month is kind of hard. My feet/legs are adjusting, but they're doing it slowly. When I went out on Thursday, it was the first time in a month that I had been outside for more than 5 minutes. Friday, I could hardly move.

Oh, and I finished my scarf by knitting till I ran out of yarn. I am told this was not wise and they introduced to the term 'casting off'. Bah. Now I have to figure out something to do for my next project.

Finally, check out these t-shirts. My favorite so far (and I only got to page 2) is

And how have you been??
